WEEM 1126 Silicon Carbide Polyester Cloth Wide Sanding Belt For Mdf & Chipboard
Quick Detail:
WEEM 1126 Silicon Carbide Wide Sanding Belt are built with durable Y-weight waterproof polyester cloth backing, sharp silicon carbide grains in a closed coat structure, and anti-static treatment for optimal sanding performance.
WEEM 1126 Silicon Carbide Polyester Cloth Wide Sanding Belt are engineered for sanding wood-based panels such as MDF, HDF, and particleboard. They feature sharp, fast-cutting silicon carbide grains, resin over resin bonding, and a close-coated structure on a durable Y-weight waterproof polyester backing.
The 100% polyester backing is treated with an anti-static finish, offering key advantages including washability, toughness, and extended service life. The selected sharp silicon carbide grains ensure aggressive cutting action. Silicon carbide (SiC) is an extremely hard, crystalline abrasive that delivers fine, straight-edged grinding lines and excels at penetrating under light pressure. SiC is widely used for grinding non-ferrous materials such as brass, copper, bronze, and also for wood, glass, rubber, and plastics. It is ideal for finishing polyurethanes, primers, lacquers, and sealers.
A technical highlight of this product is its closed coat design, which ensures a high density of cutting points per square inch—resulting in a higher material removal rate and longer abrasive life, with a superior surface finish.
To address common issues such as loading and clogging during sanding of engineered panels, an antistatic treatment is applied to the backing, helping prevent or delay these problems.
In addition, belt joint strength is a critical performance factor. Compared to the tough polyester backing, the joint area is a potential weak point, typically held together by tape and adhesive. We use 3M bi-directional high-strength tape and Bayer adhesive to maximize joint durability and reduce the risk of breakage during use.
Joint Options:
WEEM 1126 wide belts are available with 4 types of joints to suit different sanding systems and requirements.
