Quick Detail
WEEM 1128 SIC SEGMENTED SANDING BLET is designed for heavy-duty surface sanding, featuring premium silicon carbide grain on a Z-weight polyester backing. As a custom segmented or sectional belt, WEEM 1128 can be made in widths from 1400 mm up to 3000 mm or more, with 2/3 joints. Ideal choice for surface finishing of MDF, chipboard, and plywood panels.
Description:
WEEM 1128 SIC SEGMENTED SANDING BLET is made from WEEM 1128 SIC Z-CLOTH ABRASIVE, designed specifically for use as a sectional (segmented) belt. WEEM 1128 SIC Z-CLOTH ABRASIVE offers a cost-effective solution for producing segmented belts in the panel industry. It features the ideal backing for panel sanding, providing strong cross-directional stability — the YY-weight waterproof polyester backing is the best choice. This type of cloth backing delivers both rigidity and tensile strength, making it well-suited for segmented belt applications. An antistatic treatment is also applied to the backing to reduce or prevent loading issues.
A carefully selected grade of silicon carbide is used. Silicon carbide is a hard, sharp, and brittle mineral with a crystalline structure that produces fine, straight-edged scratch patterns. It excels in applications requiring light pressure and precision cutting.
Silicon carbide is ideal for panel sanding, especially when applied with a closed-coat construction. This technique maximizes abrasive grain coverage on the backing, resulting in more cutting points per square inch — offering faster stock removal, longer life, and a finer finish.
The segmented (sectional) belt is custom-made to your specifications. For panel sanding applications, typical belt sizes include 1950 mm × 2800 mm, 2650 mm × 3200 mm, and 2950 mm × 3200 mm, among others.
A robust bi-directional tape splice is used in all WEEM 1128 segmented belts, providing strong, stable joints with reliable performance.
