Waterproof Cloth Segmented Belt / Silicon Carbide Sanding Belts
Quick Detail:
WEEM R1128 segmented wide belts are engineered with anti-static treatment, sharp silicon carbide grains, and a resin-over-resin bond on waterproof polyester backing. They are specifically developed to deliver extended belt life and excellent surface finishes on extra-wide panels and boards.
These belts offer outstanding dimensional stability. With a jumbo roll width of 64” (1600mm), they can be fabricated into sanding belts sized 104” × 125” (2650 × 3200mm) using only 2 joints.

Description:
WEEM R1128 segmented belts are designed specifically as sectional belts for sanding very wide panels and boards. To ensure excellent dimensional stability, we carefully selected a Z-weight waterproof polyester backing with strong cross-directional strength. The backing is treated with an anti-static coating to minimize or prevent loading issues during use. Its combination of stiffness, tensile strength, and oversized width stability makes it an ideal backing material for segmented belts.
Only premium-grade silicon carbide is used. Silicon carbide is an extremely hard and sharp abrasive with a crystalline structure that produces fine, straight-edged grind lines. It is especially effective under light cutting pressure and is widely used for sanding non-ferrous materials such as brass, copper, bronze, wood, glass, rubber, and plastics. It’s also suitable for finishing polyurethane, primers, lacquers, and sealers.
A closed-coat structure is applied to ensure high stock removal and extended product life. Closed-coat abrasives have more cutting points per square inch, resulting in higher efficiency and a superior surface finish.
Segmented belts are custom-made according to your specifications. For the panel industry, common sizes include 1950mm × 2800mm and 2950mm × 3200mm.
A robust bi-directional tape splice is used, and WEEM R1128 segmented belts are available with two joint options.

Applications:
Woodworking/MDF/HDF/OSD/Laminate sheet/Chipboard/Glass/Metal
Competitive Advantage:
Specifically designed for wide belt sanders such as Steinemann, Imeas, and Sofuma, it delivers excellent performance and durability under heavy-duty grinding and sanding applications.
